Wear Clothing you can get messy!
1 Brick Mortar Lines (rubbing acrylic paint technique and putty technique): Painted Surfaces work better but works on bare plastic, though degreasing helps. If you have extra scrap brick sections please bring and share.
2 Powders (Monroe powdered pigment technique): this one is easy using Monroe Powders. The model must be clean and flat finished, though the flat factory finish is usually sufficient.
3 Paint pencils (AK Interactive exclusive product): this one is easy but the model must be flat coated or painted in a flat paint. If you have a small pencil sharp pencil sharpener please bring it as you will break tips. The Super is bring a bigger electric one but learning to get your tips done right is part of the process.
4 Combining 1, 2 & 3 on rolling stock and structures
5 DEMO Only (if time) - Panel Liners are by necessity Enamel paints made specifically for the job (the store has Tamiya and AK versions). Panel lining is primarily used to give ‘new’ structures and rolling stock some definition, so if you want your stuff to look clean but not boring, this is for you.
KEY POINT IS TO BRING FLAT PAINTED OR FINISHED STRUCTURES AND ROLLING STOCKS
Modeling Theme: Tank Car
Other Activities: Door prizes, white elephant table, coffee and donuts.
Lunch: On your own with a number of restaurants located near the church just north of the I64.
